Hollywood Canteen-Greatest Generation Danced with Beautiful Girls
FarOutRadio Program. Listen HERE. It’s a Hollywood Theme at Far Out Radio! Our guest this program is photographer, author, and historian Bruce Torrence. In 2012 Bruce co-authored the book, “Hollywood Canteen – Where The Greatest Generation Danced With The Most Beautiful Girls in the World” (what a great title!) with Lisa Mitchell, and published by BearManor Media.
This program we chat with Bruce Torrence about the amazing history and the wonderful stars behind the Hollywood Canteen Story. We discuss the writing and photos that make up his well received Hollywood Canteen book on the History of the Famous WW Two Hollywood Canteen.
Bruce Torrence is a career professional photographer with a passion for Hollywood history.
He has amassed the largest single collection of vintage Hollywood photographs that spans from 1880 to 1990 and newer. His website, http://www.HollywoodPhotographs.com is beautifully organized and more fun than a Marx Brothers film.
When we think of “Hollywood”, mental images of mansions, stars, big cars, big studios, glitz, and glamor easily come to mind.
With perfect year round weather, film companies were able to continuously make movies. The only thing limiting the number of films was imagination and money. And neither were in short supply.
This promises to be a delightful, fun evening with Hollywood photographer and historian, Bruce Torrence.
So, let’s take a ride down Memory Lane. Bruce was with us before on FarOutRadio to discuss his Hollywood photograph collection. Just input Bruce Torrence in our search bar to listen.
